High Rise Studio Tower
The High-rise Studio Tower is the final project on 16th and Spruce st. The tower is an eight-level high-rise residential building that features five studio apartments. Within these apartments are Mezzanine’s, a basement, and a sky garden located on top of the building. The High-rise uses a double-skin façade, which is a perforated wall spanning the face of the building with a curtain wall behind it. The operable windows promote airflow on the south facade, and wind penetrates the perforations. In addition, this double-skin facade helps to reduce direct sunlight from the South. Located on the East and West side of the building is a louvre system blocking direct sunlight. The structure is comprised of CLT panels and timber construction. This project aims to design a self-sufficient high-rise building with a well-developed structural system.
